January 31st

If you have decided to work out your own tax, that's fine but you must have your accounts in now. Don't forget, the time for paper returns has passed, you now need to use the online service through HMRC. You will need to pay what you owe for April 2007 to April 2008.

If you had done your Self Assessment as soon as the tax year was over you would have known for nearly nine months how much you owed and had a chance to save up.
April 5th

It's the end of another tax year, why not be more organised this year and start to prepare your 2008/2009 accounts now.
